The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus made a two-day stop at Ohio State’s Columbus campus on April 22 and 23. The Lennon Bus, a state-of-the-art mobile audio and video facility, travels the country staffed with recording and multimedia engineers who demonstrate cutting-edge technologies and techniques for music and multimedia production.
On Wednesday, April 22, Lennon staff and Ohio State volunteers coached students from the Weinland Park neighborhood Gidget program, an initiative to engage girls and young women in science and technology. In a single day, those students wrote music and lyrics for an original song, recorded and mixed it, and produced a music video. See their finished video
On Thursday, April 23, the Lennon bus opened for walk-through tours. See a zoomable Gigapan image of the interior of the Bus. At 4:30 p.m. the Gidget student video premiered in the Wexner Center's Performance Space as part of a program about engaging students with technology.
The Digital Union brought the bus to campus in partnership with Ohio State’s Women in Technology group, Wexner Center for the Arts, and the University Area Enrichment Association (UAEA).
